Joseph Bodnar

Joseph L. Bodnar, 69 of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Joe was born in Sham0kin, PA on September 8, 1943, son of the late George and Rose (Zienda) Bodnar. A veteran of the United States Army, Joe was employed with the Chrysler Corporation at the Newark Assembly Plant and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. John's - Holy Angels Parish and served as an usher at Sunday Mass at St. John the Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Newark Senior Center.

Joe is survived by his brothers, George and wife, Frances, Raymond and wife, Maureen and William; his sister, Rosemary Ernest and husband, John; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Albert "Butch".

Friends are invited to visit at St. John the Baptist Church, Main and Chapel Streets, Newark on Monday, December 10 from 9:30-10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will be held in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shamokin, PA on Wednesday, December 12 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
