He was a graduate of Bridgeton High School and Washington College. Louis was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, Varsity Club and ODK Honor Society. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theatre where he was involved in 12 naval operations aboard the destroyer USS Yakutat. After WWII, he reentered college, graduating in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He taught high school science for a short while before joining the DuPont Company in 1951. He worked in the Technical Marketing Department of Textile Fibers from 1951 until 1986. Louis was awarded the Man of the Year Award from RUTI Textile Machinery Company. His work with DuPont carried him to Europe, India and Russia as well as much of the United States. He loved fishing, skiing and sailing. He was always a sailor at heart. He was a tremendously loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to so many. He always had a story, joke, or poem to suit every situation.
