Patricia A. Jamison

Patricia A. Jamison, age 76, of Kennett Square, PA passed away on June 5, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family after a brave battle with a neurological condition. She was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1936, the younger daughter of Harry J. and Irene Ireland.

After graduating from Academy of Our Lady (Peoria) High School in 1954, Pat completed her Speech Education degree at Northwestern University in 1958. She was a devoted kindergarten teacher for four years before turning her attention to homemaking upon starting a family in 1962.

Pat loved cooking, music and dance, was a cast member with many musical productions at Longwood Gardens, sang with the Northern Delaware Oratorio Society and was a soloist in the Saint Mary of the Assumption church choir for over 20 years. She had a passion for fine jewelry and an accomplished appreciation of fine art, and enjoyed collecting each throughout her life.

Pat is survived by her husband of 53 years Joel D. Jamison, Jr., her sister Margaret McConnell of Peoria, Ill. and three sons: Gregory, his wife Debbie, grandsons Patrick and Michael of Albuquerque, NM; Phillip, his wife Christine and granddaughter Shannon of Avondale, PA; and Brandon, his wife Jody and grandsons Ian and Declan of West Chester, PA.

There will be a visitation at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, June 9. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Pat's life will be held at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE at 11 am on Monday, June 10.
