Raymond A. Malloy

Raymond A. Malloy went home to the Lord on August 15, 2014. Ray was born in Chester, PA on September 23, 1924, son of the late Frank and Ethel (McClary) Malloy, but was raised by his aunt, Dorothy (McClary) Foley. A proud veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, he served his country with honor and valor during WWII and the Korean War. He went on to work 32 years for the Scott Paper Company in Corporate Security. He also devoted his time and loyalty to the Knights of Columbus and was the past Grand Master at his lodge Council 8120 in Eustis, FL.

Ray was predeceased in death by his son, Michael "Mick", and 6 siblings, Frank, William, Sam, Emma, Ethel, and Marguerite. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean; son, Dennis (Ruth); 4 grandsons, Michael (Anie), Matthew, James (Jennifer), Patrick; great-grandson, Steven; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at Christiana Hospital and the Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 801 N. DuPont Blvd in New Castle, on Friday morning, August 22 at 11am. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday morning, prior to mass, from 9-10:45am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ray's honor to the of Delaware, 2306 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805.
