Raymond Ingram

Raymond W. Ingram, age 76, of New Castle, DE passed away on September 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A Delaware native, Ray was a 50 year Life Active Member in Wilmington Manor Fire Company. He held many offices throughout his prestigious service including Deputy Chief, Vice President, and Board of Directors Member. Ray was a professional truck driver, member of Teamster's Local # 326, and retired from Young Lumber. After retiring, he drove a school bus for Colonial School District. Ray enjoyed playing guitar and singing in his Country & Western band as well as singing Karaoke. Ray loved spending time with his family, his greatest treasure. He enjoyed camping, woodworking, and his many pets. The family wishes to thank Ray's caregivers especially Vitas Hospice Care and Pastor Bo Gordy-Stith of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Ray is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Ingram; two sons, Tim Ingram and his wife Pam, Michael Ingram and Karen Guyer; two daughters, Julie Leonard and her husband Jeff, Tammy Evans and her husband Darrell; six grandchildren: Chad and Courtney Ingram, Matthew and Andrew Leonard, and Lauren and Allison Evans; and three great grandchildren, Emily and Cole Ingram and Alyssa Williams.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 20 from 6-9 pm at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd, Newark, DE 19702. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 9 am at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 300 E. Basin Rd, New Castle, DE 19720 followed by a Service with full Fireman Honors at 10 am.

Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Port Penn, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wilmington Manor Fire Company, PO Box 645, Manor Branch, New Castle, DE 19720. For directions or to express an online condolence visit www.strano-feeley.com
