Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, went to be with the Lord on Monday April 8, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born November 21, 1925. He will be remembered mostly for his sense of humor and his love for his family. He was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Markowski. Stanley was a loving uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle. He leaves to cherish his memory his nieces Sharon Resto (Steve), De and Deborah Callahan (Kenneth) both of Wilmington, DE.

He served in the Army from 1944 until 1946 during WWII. After the Army he came home to take care of his family in which he worked for Cropper Machine Shop in Wilmington, De then began his career at DuPont in Newark, DE as a machinist.
Stanley enjoyed horse racing, bowling and going to the casino.
Stanley will be dearly missed by his great nieces and nephews Amy (Ricky), Yvonne (Sean), Benjamin, Joshua and, Joseph Yakal, MaryAudrey, and Stephanie. His great-great nieces Felicity, Kalynn, Layla and Melaney.
He was predeceased by his brothers Joe, John & Benjamin Markowski, his sisters Bernice Bogia & Florence Hughto.
The family would like to give thanks to the staff of Seasons Hospice for their care and concern for Stanley in his last days.
Family and friends are invited to attend Stanley's visitation on Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013, at the Corleto-Latina Center from 6pm to 8pm, 807 N. Union Street, Wilmington, DE. 19805. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10 am. Entombment will follow Mass at Cathedral Cemetery.
