After moving to Delaware, he joined the congregation of Christ Church Christiana Hundred, serving on the Vestry there for 12 years. The long-time superintendent of the church school, he also was one of the first licensed lay readers in the Diocese. After retiring, he became a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church in Wilmington.
