Jack Cauley

Age 74, a 42 year resident of Upper Chichester died June 7 at home. Mr. Cauley was born in Chester the son of the late John J. and Anne Marie nee Weekes Cauley.

He attended St. Joseph School in Collingdale and graduated from St. James High School in 1956.

He had been employed by Penn Central Railroad and then Conrail and finally as Director of Transportation by Union Pacific Railroad for 30 retiring in 2000.

Jack loved his family especially his grandchildren who called him Pop-Pop Jack. He was an usher at 9:30 Mass at St. John Fisher for many years.

Jack was a member of St. James High School Alumni Association attending most every function that the Alumni held. He was also very involved in the class of '56 activities raising money to donate a statue of St. James the Greater to the Alumni Association and on the committee for their reunions.

He loved golf and was a member of Chesapeake Golf Club and was a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams.

Jack served in the United States Marine Corps following graduation from high school and was a member of American Legion Post 926 in Aston, PA

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Bonnie M. nee Aceto Cauley who died in 2001.

Jack is survived by his children Kimberley A. Chambers of Wilmington, DE, John J. Cauley III (Diana) of Lincoln University, Michael J. Cauley, Sr. (Robin) of Wilmington, DE and Jill M. Nix (Mark) of Avondale, brother Dennis Cauley of Lancaster County, his friend and companion Lynn Bove and his beloved grandchildren Karissa, Alexia, Michael, Jenna, Karli, Alaina, Jack, Owen, and Gabriel.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Carr Funeral Home 935 S. Providence Rd. (rt. 320) Wallingford, PA on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 A.M. at St. John Fisher Church 4225 Chichester Ave. Boothwyn, PA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery Marple Township.
