Absalom "Sol"
Vineland, NJ: Absalom "Sol" Finkelstein died June 5, 2013 at the age of 87. Sol, a Holocaust survivor, did not let the Holocaust define his life. He was prominent in local civic and political affairs, his synagogue and the Jewish community. He actively promoted Jewish life, Holocaust remembrance and support of Israel. Always devoted to his family, he leaves behind Goldie, his wife of 66 years, children Jacob (Gail), Joseph (Sara), Evi (Craig) Thomas, grandchildren David, Ilana, Adam (Hilary), Julie, Seth, great-granddaughter Mina, and extended family.
Shiva will be observed in the Rochester area on Tuesday, June 11, 7-9 pm at Temple Beth El, 139 Winton Rd S. Donations may be sent to the CHAI, 441 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14607, or Temple Beth El, 139 Winton Rd. S, Rochester, NY 14610.
