Beatrice Ann "Nana" Van Der Beck Obituary
Van Der Beck,

Beatrice Ann "Nana"

Brighton: Went to sing with the angels on Monday November 12th at age 83 after a long and happy life. Bea is survived by her husband, Roland "Van" to whom she was married 63 years; her beloved daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren: Ann (John) Lelo, Susan (Bob Coccia), Tyler, Jake and Jesse, Lynn (Ken Pike), Eric and Nathan (Tiffany) and great-granddaughters, Keira and Naomi.

Bea and Van were raised in Maplewood, NJ and met soon after her graduation from high school. Upon completion of high school, Bea attended Berkeley Secretarial School. After a 2 year courtship they were married while Van was attending Ohio State University. Their life journey took them to New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. With each move they garnered life-long friends. Bea was a devoted and joyful mother. Her homelife was full of music, laughter and hand made treasures. With her family, she enjoyed tennis, golf and curling. She loved to swim from the party boat on Conesus Lake. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Bea was an avid gardener and an active member of the Conesus Lake Garden Club. She found support and friendship in Gilda's Club. She will be remembered for making over 300 "Bea's Dolls" for local cancer patients. She was an active member of Mountain Rise Church. Bea will never be forgotten. She leaves the world a better place. We thank the Lord for the gift of her life.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday December 1st at Mountain Rise Church in Perinton at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heritage Christian Services, 349 West Commercial Street, Suite 2795, East Rochester, NY 14445.
