Brighton: February 22, 2013 peacefully at age 81. Survived by his loving wife Sally; children, Kim (Phil) VanVleet, Charlie Bush, Bill (Laura) Bush, Betsy (Sam) LoGiudice, Sara (Bob) LaCava, Brian Reagan,and Jennifer (David) Bean; grandchildren, Kerry (Russ), Shelly (Rob), Philip (Colleen), Stephanie (Alan), Michael, Erica (Seth), Sam, Becky, Sean, Madalyn, Jack, Abby, McAndrew and Camden; 7 great-grandchildren; special cousins; brother-in-law Kent (June) Barwick; sisters-in-law: Susan (James) O'Brien and Jaimye Strickland.

Ben was a graduate of MHS, Madison, NJ '49; Berkshire School, Sheffield, MA '50 and VPI, Blacksburg, VA '56. He was a member of Sigma Lambda fraternity. Ben served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Martin Co., Minneapolis Honeywell, Atlas Chemical, General Dynamics and retired from Xerox in '84.

An avid sportsman, Ben was a third generation member and past president of the Easton Anglers' Association.

A singular man of great integrity, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a gentleman and he was fun. He was not to be rushed. He was Mr. B or Papa to generations, the consummate teacher. Loved and revered by so many, it would be his counsel that we: Be of Good Cheer and Go Gentle in life…

Friends may call at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home Saturday, March 9th, 12-3pm. A celebration of Ben's life will be held at 3pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to bring a written memory or favorite photo for the family's memory book.
