Newark: Dec. 22, 2013, Edward Hethcoat, 83. He will be remembered by his sons, E. Michael (Barbara) Hethcoat & Thomas (Nora) Hethcoat; daughters, Roxanne (Joseph) Grieco, Rebecca (Dale) Vandigo & Marie (David) Brumn; grandchildren, Alison Hethcoat & Greg Baker, Matthew Hethcoat, Jacqueline & Joseph Vandigo, Rachel Brumn; great granddaughter Aria Mia Bella Baker; brother Joseph (Glena) Hethcoat; sisters, Ruth Wise, Wanda Allison, Linda (Roy) Hanks & Alice (Donald) Gibson; many nieces & nephew; & many, many friends. Mr. Hethcoat was predeceased by his wife, Rose Mary (Pizzirusso) Hethcoat in 1995; daughter, Deborah (Hethcoat) Petty in 2004, brother, Earl Hethcoat Jr. in 2000 & sister Lois June Bigilo in 1997.

Mr. Hethcoat worked for the Newark Police Department for 37 years & served in the capacity of Police Chief for 12 years before retiring in 1993. The funeral home proudly flies the Air Force Flag in honor of his service to our country.

Family & friends may call THURS. (Dec. 26) from 4 to 7 at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W Miller St., Newark. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on FRI. (Dec. 27) at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St. Newark. Burial will follow in East Newark Cemetery.
