He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Irene M. Saeva (Masters); daughters, Sandra and son-in-law David Markussen; Maureen and son-in-law Michael Weiss and grandchildren, Jeremiah and Audrey; Rebecca and son-in-law Anthony Barone and grandchildren, Benjamin and Allison. He thanks his scientific colleagues as well as his golf and tennis friends for helping him keep intellectually and physically healthy. His love for the pursuit of scientific understanding was only surpassed by his love for his wife, daughters and their families. His basic life philosophy was simply to always try his best and be kind to others.
