Mt. Morris: A prominent Mt. Morris NY businessman, died of lymphoma on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was 88 years old. He owned and operated Mount Morris Furniture for over 68 years. He was a life-long resident of Mount Morris and received the key to the town in 2011. He was instrumental in the construction of Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville NY and a charter member of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Church and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. A veteran of the WWII Army Air Force, he was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Ann and 2 children, Mary Margaret (Jim) Stallone of Geneseo and Dr. Sam Bozzette of San Diego, CA. He had 5 grandchildren, Kristin (David) DiProsa, Dr. Kim (Dr. Levon) Vogelsang, Michael Stallone, and Alex and Ben Bozzette, and 5 great grandchildren, Michael, Hunter, Benjamin, Kaylee and Anneliese. He has 2 surviving siblings, Rose (Tom) Eckrich of Bayshore Long Island and Anna Migliore of Elmira, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family thanks Dr. Steven Bernstein and the caring Staff at the University of Rochester's James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, and requests that donations to the Cancer Center be made in lieu of flowers.

Friends may call Friday from 3-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris and sign the online registry at http://www.johnwmartinfuneralhome.com/ . Prayers will be said Saturday at the Funeral Home at 10:30 am followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church at 11 am. Reverend Daniel Condon officiating. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
