Otto, Richard E

Greece: Thursday, May 9, 2013 at age 79. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean; daughter, Linda (Robert) Kostin; son, Alex (Elisa Bob) Otto; grandchildren, Michael and Julia Kostin. Dick attended the Eastman School of Music and graduated from Syracuse University with his BS and MBA degrees. His career was in finance. He was a veteran of the Korean War during which he was a member of the West Point Band and the U.S. Army Field Band. For many years and until his death, he was the band leader of The Music Makers Big Band and The March Masters Marching Band. The family wishes to express gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Unity Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, with special thanks to cardiologist, Dr. Tejan Patel. Dick will be missed.

Friends may call Tuesday (May 14th) 4-7 p.m. at Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home 1075 Long Pond Road, Greece Chapel. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 9:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greece Volunteer Ambulance or the in his memory.
