Robert A. "Bob" Moe Ph.D. Obituary
Moe, Robert A., PhD. "Bob"

Honeoye Falls/Glen Ridge, NJ/Lake Forest, IL: "I did the best I could"

Passed away, peacefully, on April 11, 2014 at the age of 91. Born on March 26, 1923 to Margaret and Lars Moe; Robert was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marion in 2004. He is survived by his three children Robert (Virginia) Moe, Paul Moe and Virginia Butler (Dennis) Floss; six grandchildren, Joshua (Nadja) Moe, Andrew (Jess) Moe, Zachary Floss, Benjamin Floss, Jacob Floss and Teneglis Moe; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Brady Moe; brother Ingvald (Dorothy) Moe, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Bob honorably served his country with the United States Marine Corps., 4th division, in the South Pacific Theatre, 1943-1946. After serving, Bob earned his PhD., and launched his career in medical research. He retired as the Vice President of research for Wyeth Ayerst Labs., of Princeton, NJ. Bob volunteered at the St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Cedar Grove, NJ from 2002 through 2012; where his wife had been a resident. Bob moved to the Pinehurst Senior Living Community in Honeoye Falls in 2013. While there, Bob made a lot of new friends and became the resident photographer. His daughter, son-in-law and grandson lived nearby and they enjoyed the time together. Over the years, Bob belonged to and was active in several Roman Catholic parishes in New Jersey and Illinois. When he moved up to Honeoye Falls, he attended services at Ionia United Methodist Church with his daughter Virginia. Some of the other things that brought joy to Bob were gardening, reading and being by the ocean. His family will miss him very much.

Services will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation, in memory of Bob, to Hope Hall School, 1612 Buffalo Road, Rochester, NY 14624, or by logging on to www.hopehall.org.

Bob's family is deeply grateful for the outstanding, compassionate care provided by Visiting Nurse Hospice and Serenity Home Care.
