Heath, Maurice Maxwell, M.D.

Schertz, TX: Heath, Maurice Maxwell, born in Warren, OH, on July 15, 1926, died peacefully on December 16, 2015 at Autumn Winds Nursing Home in Schertz, TX. He was the son of Maxwell Heath and Maude Heath. He was the youngest of seven children.

He attended Roberts Wesleyan College for one year prior to being drafted into the Army in WWII in 1944. He attained the rank of corporal, serving in the Pacific. Upon discharge, he completed his bachelor's degree at Greenville College in 1949. He went to medical school at Temple University, and earned an MD in 1955. In 1956 he started his practice in family medicine in North Chili, NY, and was the college physician at Roberts Wesleyan College. He was an active member at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church. He retired in 1990.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Heath and son, Craig Heath. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Heath, daughter Heidi Chaney (Bradford) and twin grandsons Nathan and Carl Chaney of Rockville, MD. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Cheryl Elliot and Daniel Davidson of Rochester, NY and Karen (Tim) Wells of Cibolo, TX, six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2016 at the Autumn Winds Nursing Home in Schertz, TX, followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.
