In December 2002, Chip accepted a position at the Bexar County District Attorney's Office. He took great satisfaction in his work as a prosecutor, and spent ten years in various divisions of the DA's office, most recently as Chief of the DWI Task Force. A life-long Lutheran, Chip was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio. Chip loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter as a young man. He enjoyed hiking and camping in his leisure time. Chip was a loyal Denver Broncos fan, and also loved the San Antonio Spurs, attending games regularly with his family.
