76, passed away on May 13, 2013, in Denver. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Ellen Van Ness Seymour, his children Anne Katherine (Amy Keyser), John Alexander (Rachel Saturn) and William David (Stephanie), his step-sons Stephen Huse Van Ness (Kerri Baker) and Thomas Gregory Van Ness (Karey Lontz), his four Seymour grandchildren, Emma and Nathan, Alex and Max, his brother McNeil V. (Mary), his sisters Charlotte Johnson (Leonard, deceased) and Jean Johnson (Jack), his twelve nieces and nephews, and devoted friend Quincy, Springer Spaniel. He was born July 15, 1936, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Paul Academy. He then attended Williams College and graduated from The University of Minnesota, and served in the U.S. Army Airborne in Europe. He had a long career in finance and human resources, first in Minnesota and then in Denver, which involved a great deal of travel and connecting with a diverse array of people. In his retirement he continued to visit and amuse his vast network of friends and family. His vibrant and joyful nature and unique sense of humor will be missed greatly by everyone he ever encountered. The Memorial Service will be Friday, May 17, 2013 at 3 pm at Mayflower Congregational Church, 3001 S. Acoma Street, Englewood, Colorado. Those who knew and appreciated David are invited. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to an organization important to David, such as The Denver Rescue Mission (http://www.denverrescuemission.org - 303.297.1815 ) and The Denver Dumb Friends League (http://www.ddfl.org - 303.751.5772).
