91, died on Friday, July 26, 2013 in Colorado Spring, CO. Ken was born near Ault, CO on Jan. 12, 1922 to Charles and Ina Schoonover. He graduated from Ault High School in 1939 and married Ruth Sweetland on Sept. 12, 1942. Ken served in the Army during World War II in the 341st Signal Corp. After the war, he attended Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley receiving both his Bachelor and Master degrees. In his professional career he was Superintendent of Schools in Craig and Littleton, CO. After the death of his first wife, he married Eleanor French on November 23, 2001. Ken is survived by his wife Eleanor and their children, Karen (Pat) Kelly, Kathy (Bruce) Oviatt, Kenneth Schoonover Junior, Tina (Garry) Dudley, Patty French, Margo (Leo) Bruderer, and Cindy (Tom) Haren; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents and his first wife Ruth, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Newt, Howard and Larry; and his sisters, Ruthe and Ula. Memorial service, Aug. 1, 4 PM, Liberty Heights, 12105 Ambassador Dr., Colorado Springs.
