Mary Margaret Rindahl peacefully accepted the call of God's spirit on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She was 82 years young.

A Celebration of the Resurrection Faith and the life of Mary Rindahl will be held Friday, January 31, 2014, 10:30 am, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 11500 E. Iliff Ave., Aurora, Colorado 80014 with Rev. Mike Borgstede officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mount Olive Lutheran Church Music Ministry.

Mary was born to her parents Lester and Margaret Peel and became a younger sister to William (Bill) Peel on June 1, 1931 in Dassel, Minnesota. Mary attended Stephens College and graduated from the University of Minnesota with degrees in music and education. She met her husband of 36 years, Gilbert Rindahl, while in high school and they married shortly after Gib's graduation from the Naval Academy and her first year of teaching in Alexandria, Minnesota. After moving to Spokane, Washington, she taught two years of music education to junior high school students.

As a military officer's wife, Mary lived in various different locations including Washington, Newfoundland, Virginia, Indiana, Nebraska and Ohio. In 1973, Mary and Gib retired from their military life and moved to Aurora, Colorado.

Those who knew and loved Mary remember her as being a kind, loving and caring friend, sister-in-law and mother. She cared deeply for their futures and well being of their families. Mary could start a conversation with anyone and often did.

Mary was a huge Bronco fan and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. She enjoyed many adventures and activities throughout her life which included traveling, skiing, golfing, swimming and reading. She donated her time to many philanthropic causes including the Colorado Museum of Natural History, Heather Gardens Community, singing in the church choir and playing the organ for 30+ years at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She was a dedicated member of Mount Olive's Lutheran Church and attended Mount Cross Lutheran Church after moving to Camarillo, California.

She is survived by her sons, Eric Rindahl and his wife, Rhonda Beck, of Denver, Colorado and Bruce Rindahl and his wife, Angela Burdick, of Ventura, California, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Randy Churchill of Camarillo, California, their children, Kevin Churchill and Anne Churchill Valencia and their families.
