He served in the Army during WWII and following the war, worked at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver for 38 years. In 1948, he married his sweetheart, Mary Giannelli Johns, and they had one son, Ron. He remained a faithful and loving husband for 64 years of marriage. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the many family gatherings of siblings, nieces and nephews, especially the card games at which he was an avid player. He was a soft-spoken man of great integrity and a beloved husband and father. He lived a long and healthy life, and was full of gratitude through the end of his days.
