Art, 87, died July 1 at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 3 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 9:30. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Arthur Louis Klein, son of Arthur Daniel Klein and Stella Mae Hardister, was born October 4, 1926 in Moberly, Missouri. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Art worked for the Norfolk and Western Railroad, and after retirement he drove a school bus for St. Theresa, Dowling and West Des Moines Schools. He was a current member of St. Theresa Church and a former member of Elks Lodge 2752, Mens Transportation Club, the Izaak Walton League, and Windsor Heights Fire and Rescue Squad.

Art is survived by his wife, Joan of 65 years; his children: Kristine (Dan) Pfaff of Des Moines, Carol (Jim) Langeness of Windsor Heights, Meg (Mike) Lipper of Kennesaw, GA, Monica (Arlin) DeJong of Fort Wayne, IN, and Eric (Kennetha) Klein of Clive; ten grandchildren: Sara, Ryan, Adam, Andrew, Matthew, Anna, Klein, Addison, Austin, and Carson; six great-grandchildren; and three nephews: Jay, Klein, and Dan Spangler.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Theresa Church or Bishop Drumm Care Center.
