Beverly E. Lindstrom Lilly Scott

Scottsdale, AZ

On December 7, 2013 at age 97, still full of charm and acute observations, she slipped away peacefully.

Beverly was the only child of Roy Carl Lindstrom and his wife Anne Gordon.

Beverly was remarkable. She was a Theta at Drake University during the Depression and later went back to finish her BA. She was an elementary school teacher in rural Iowa in the 1930s then returned to teaching in Ankeny, Iowa in the 1960s.

Beverly was one of the first members of the Women's Army Air Corp during WWII, where she rose from private to Captain.

She survived two husbands, Kenneth Lilly, a Des Moines funeral director, and Walter Scott, a Motorola executive.

Her family includes her son, Kip Lilly, and her step family, including Bill and Doug Scott. Her grandchildren include Ken and Gwen Lilly, Steve, Kyle, Carolyn, Ryan, Lucia Scott, Tracey (Scott) Freeman, and three great grandchildren. Wally and Susie Scott preceded her in death.

Her final resting place is beside her husband Walter Scott in Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale. She'll be remembered as a fun companion and a lucid communicator. Her final request was that her life should be celebrated rather than memorial services held.
