C. Grant Dalrymple

Des Moines

Grant was born July 9, 1931 in Fargo, North Dakota. He moved to Des Moines in 1942 and graduate from East High School in 1949. Grant attended Simpson College for one year, then enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a Purchasing Agent for American Trampoline and Woodford Manufacturing; then was an industrial salesman for Deco Tool Supply and Sioux City Iron. Most recently, he worked for Iowa Realty in the Facilities Management division. The greatest joys of his life were family, golf, and football.

Grant is survived by his loving wife, Sherry; his daughter, Connie (Bill) Wacht of Vinton, Iowa; two sons: Curt Dalrymple of Des Moines and Kent Dalrymple of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Merry Dalrymple of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Winifred Dalrymple; brother, John Dalrymple; and sister, Joan Dalrymple.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 5 at Merle Hay Funeral Home. His funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 6 at the funeral home with burial at Chapel Hill Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
