Danny L. Snider, 62, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home in Madrid. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, May 13, at Iles Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, May 14, at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Lincoln Cemetery, rural Granger.

Danny was born on August 17, 1951, in Madrid, Iowa, to Merle William and Gladys Marie (Higby) Snider. He was a graduate of Madrid High School and was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War, until Danny was honorably discharged. He made his home in Madrid. For many years, Danny was employed as a Diesel Mechanic originally with Housby Mack Inc. and later retired with Freightliner. He enjoyed working on cars with friends and working in his yard. Danny loved helping his children on various things and also spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his four children, Clint Snider of WI, and Scott (Brady) Snider, Nicholas Snider and Sarah Snider all of Madrid; two brothers, Larry (Lynn) Snider of Madrid and Jerry (Jan) Snider of Gilbert; two sisters, Connie LaValley and Betty Strait both of Madrid; five grandchildren, Katelyn, Lexi, Cecilia, Stella and Jude; and many nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded into eternal life by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.

The family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Danny Snider Memorial Fund to be designated later.
