David E. Gasperi, 83, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. A graveside service will be held 9:30 AM, Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.

David was born July 30, 1930 in Des Moines to David and Katherine (Donati) Gasperi. He was a veteran of the Korean War and married Carmen Hansen on October 31, 1953. He worked as a tool maker for Mercury Tool and Engineering for many years. David was a Ham Radio operator (call letters KØSDR) and enjoyed radio controlled model airplanes.

Survivors include his wife, Carmen; his children Rick Gasperi of Scottsdale, AZ, and Michel Gasperi - Kinley (Ray) of Des Moines; and his siblings, Amelia Garwick of Des Moines and John Gasperi of Oxnard, CA. David was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Jobe and Anita Riccelli.
