David Neades

Havre de Grace, MD

David "Dave" N. Neades, age 68, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on March 29, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Dave was born in Des Moines, IA on August 24, 1945. He was the second son of George and Barbara Neades. After attending Des Moines Technical High School, Dave entered the US Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic in Dover, DE and San Bernardino, CA. Following his service in the Air Force, he attended Delaware State College, earning a B.S. in Mathematics in 1974. Dave enjoyed a 28-year career working for the Army Research Lab at Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was instrumental in developing a new way of assessing casualties that is widely used throughout the armed forces analytical community. Outside of work, Dave was a devoted family man who loved to travel. He was also an avid fisherman, photographer, gardener, and all-around outdoor enthusiast. Dave was preceded in death by his parents George and Barbara and Step-mother Ione. Dave is survived by his loving wife June of 38 years, his sons Ben and Mike, daughter-in-law Sarah, brother James, sister-in-law Mary, and brother Chris.
