Donald Milford Brown, 93, of Des Moines, died on May 31 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. His funeral will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, at Merle Hay Funeral Home with burial at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born in Slater and had lived in Des Moines most if his life. He was a veteran of WWII and enjoyed his friends at the East Side Senior Center. He loved bowling.

He is survived by three daughters: Brenda Ford Engstrom of Des Moines, Ev Mentzer of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sandy White of Keizer, Oregon; three sons: Kenneth Engstrom of La Verkin, Utah, John Engstrom of Fort Worth, Texas, and Don Brown of Des Moines; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Phil Brown; and sister, Shirley Wallace. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Jenny Brown, his wife, Margaret, and two children, La Verne Engstrom and Maxine Short.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the East Side Senior Center.
