Janis Kiburz, 82, passed away Wednesday evening, March 26, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born to Paul and Lula (Hatfield) Little and graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines. Janis married her best friend, Jack, on January 29, 1955 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines. They spent their entire life together in West Des Moines. Janis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church. Janis was devoted to children with special needs and their families through her work with Special Olympics and CIRSI. Family was very important to her. Other's needs always came first. She was a caring, giving, and unselfish person.

Janis will be greatly missed by her husband, Jack; sister, Joyce Little; four children, Paul (Cheryl) Kiburz, Jane (Tom) Daniels, John (Kelly) Kiburz and Mary Joyce Kiburz; six grandchildren, Jacob (Melissa) Daniels, Laurel (Tom) Rector, Sarah (Tommy) Sadler, Nick, Jonathan and Jessica Kiburz; and great grandchildren, Carter Rector and Theo Sadler.

A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McLaren's Chapel, 801 - 19th St., West Des Moines, with a rosary at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Central Iowa Residential Services Incorporated, (CIRSI), 111 E. Linn St., Marshalltown, IA 50158, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to a .
