Jerald Heaberlin, 67, passed away April, 7, 2013, in Knoxville, IA. He was born April 12, 1945, in Knoxville.
In 1972, he married Barb Butcher and they made their home in Knoxville.
Jerald proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He cut meat at Hy-Vee in Knoxville for thirty-one years. Upon retirement, he spent many winters in Mesa, AZ with his wife. He enjoyed sprint car races and car shows. His family meant the world to him.
Preceding Jerald in death were his father, Wayne Heaberlin; his step-father, J.D. Isley, Jr.; his brother, Dennis Isley; his sister, Terri Isley; and his father-in-law, Leo Butcher.
Surviving Jerald are his wife of 40 years, Barb; their two sons, Brad and wife Abby of Columbia, IA, and Jeff of Knoxville; their grandchildren, Cole, Emma, and Drew. Jerald is also survived by his mother, LaVonne Isley of Hannibal, MO; his sister Colleen and husband Bill Fantz of Hannibal, MO; a nephew, Shane Fantz of Des Moines; a niece, Ashley Fantz of Atlanta, GA; and his mother-in-law, Mary Butcher of Knoxville; and many friends.
Funeral services for Jerald will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 11, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville. Burial with military honors will follow services at Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Visitation for Jerald will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville. Jerald's family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in Jerald's name to Save Our Stadium, (S.O.S.) Project of Knoxville. Condolences may be sent to WWW.winfieldfh.com. The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is assisting the family with arrangements.
