Leonard L. Lindquist, 91, died on April 21, 2013, in Farmington, NM. He was born on June 14, 1921, to Charles and Ella Ewald Lindquist. He graduated from North High School and attended Drake University in Des Moines. He married Evelyn Hester on Dec. 24, 1941. He served in the U.S. Maritime Services, U.S. Merchant Marine, and U.S. Navy during World War II. Leonard worked for the U.S. Postal Service for almost 30 years and retired as a Tour Superintendent.

He enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, and playing cribbage. Leonard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Farmington, as well as the Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Masonic Pioneer lodge #22 AF and AM and the American Legion Post 374 of Des Moines.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Lindquist, his daughter JoAnn Papich, great-nephews Roger Ball, Rodney Wilkins, and Ryan McDonald, as well as Princess, his beautiful little cat. Burial will be in the Waukee cemetery. Leonard's care is entrusted to Alternative Choice Funeral, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, 505-325-9611
