Loren "Ole" LeRoy Sturtz, 86, of Ankeny passed away January 29, 2014 at the VA Community Living Center in Des Moines.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.)

"Ole" was born November 30, 1927 in Gilbert, Iowa.

He farmed for a number of years near Kelley, Iowa. He worked for various auto electric businesses, and finally became the co-owner of S & J Auto Electric in Ankeny.

He was a WWII Veteran, stationed in Fort Ord, CA, and a member of the American Legion, Post 42 in Ankeny.

"Ole" is survived by his daughters, Deb (Neil) Nardini, and Lorna (Vova) Chernomorets; grandchildren, Erika (Justin) Brunwasser, Carly, Joshua, and Nathan Chernomorets; companion, Lee Ahlberg; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Doughten, and Nadine Sturtz; and many cherished nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, his parents, 4 brothers, and a sister.
