Luana M. Beidelman, 97, daughter of Earl G. & Hazel A. (Steelsmith) Wills, was born December 22, 1916 in Fairmont, MN. She passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Panora Nursing & Rehab Center.

She graduated from Naperville High School in 1934. In 1936, Luana graduated from Marinello Beauty School in Chicago, where she was an instructor for two years. She later studied nursing at the University of Minnesota.

On July 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to O.J. Beidelman, Jr. at the Methodist Church in Naperville, IL. To this union three children were born. Along with her husband they owned and operated Beidelman Funeral Homes in Panora and Guthrie Center for 27 years.

While she often preferred to stay home and care for her family, she was active in the Panora United Methodist Church, Women's Service Organization and a 60 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crotchet, reading, pets, wolves, and the sights and sounds of nature.

Luana will be missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her son, David (Mary) Beidelman of Panora; daughters, Karen (Doyle) Harper of Iowa City; and Sara (Bill) Early of Harlan; 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1998.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in the West Cemetery, Panora. Visitation will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 5-7 PM with an Eastern Star service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
