Margaret Louise Clark was born May 6, 1921 to F. Edward and B. Margaret (Armstrong) Clark near Knierim, Iowa. She was graduated from Rinard High School in 1938 and received her B.A. Degree from the University of Iowa in 1943. She taught English in the Marcus High School and worked in the editorial department of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota before her marriage to Melvin Dorr on June 20, 1945.

While raising their family of seven sons and two daughters, Mrs. Dorr was active in the community, as well. A member of Peace Lutheran Church, she taught their ecumenical special education Sunday School Class for some years. She was a 56-year member of the Marcus Womans Club, served on the Library Board and the 1971 Marcus Centennial Committee. At the time of the 1996 Quasquicentennial Celebration she contributed many pages to the Marcus History Book.

Margaret is survived by one daughter, Ann Dorr, and seven sons, Tom (Ann), Fred (Linda), Jon (Gail), Karl (Amy), Paul (Debra), Philip and Kurt (Lisa) Dorr along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Dorr will be at the Greenwood Schubert Funeral Home, Marcus Iowa. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 starting at 4:00 p.m. The family will be present starting at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held starting at 7:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church (rural Marcus) the following afternoon on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

Margaret's burial service will follow at the Marcus-Amherst Cemetery.
