Paul E. Lundberg


Paul E. Lundberg, 81, was born February 8, 1931 on a farm SE of Dayton, IA in Boone County, the 2nd oldest of six children of Byron & Ethel (Beckstrom) Lundberg. He passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.

He attended school at Pilot Mound, Iowa moving to Harcourt, Iowa with his parents in 1947. He graduated from Harcourt High School in 1948. In 1951, during the Korean War, he was drafted into the U.S. Marines Corps MCRD at Oceanside, CA and at headquarters G3 at Camp Pendleton being discharged in October of 1953. Paul was active in 4-H where he met his wife, Elaine Blunk. They were married on June 27, 1954 at Moorland, Iowa. He retired from farming in 1992 and resided in Panora, Iowa.

Paul was currently a member of Faith Bible Church, Panora, and he held long time memberships in several organizations, including the Farm Bureau, Iowa Soybean Association, several cooperatives and the Pork Producers.

He was active member of the American Legion holding many offices since he joined in 1953, always participating and doing what he could for his community and country to support our veterans and service members. Paul enjoyed riding his 1936 John Deere tractor in numerous parades and events.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Elaine; three sons, Mark (Sherry) Lundberg of Orange City, IA; Kyle (Laura) Lundberg of Cedar Rapids, IA; Bruce (Cindy) Lundberg of Houston, TX; and three daughters, Pam (Richard) Bouilly of McNeal, AZ; Brenda (Rodney) Davis of Mingo, IA; and Beth Lundberg of Grimes, IA. Six grandchildren, Ryan (Liz) Lundberg; Mandy (Brian) Borchers; Molly (Fiancé Bryan Hoge) Lundberg; Ashley (Arron) Cramer; Sarah Davis; and Mercedes Lundberg. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Ethan Borchers and Prudence Lundberg; sister Lucille Bower of North Hollywood, CA; brother Ron Lundberg of Gowrie, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie Lundberg, Joyce Brobst, and one in infancy, and a brother Charles Lundberg.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be 4:00 P.M. Friday, May 18, 2012 at Lost Grove Cemetery, near Harcourt, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 4 - 8 P.M. with family present from 6 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Faith Bible Church, Panora or Mercy Hospice, Johnston, IA.
