Robert passed away April 15, 2014 at the Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Robert was born March 8, 1932 in Farrar, Ia. to George and Dorothy (Harris) Lindsey. He was the 7th of twelve births for the family. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers; George Jr., Ted, Glen and one infant boy, Sisters; Thelma Hicks, Betty Hicks, Joyce Parker and Orabelle Lindsey, Daughter Terry Rae Thompson and one great grandson.

Robert is survived by his wife Marilyn, Sisters Ruth Barr of Perry, Ia., Jeannette (Bud) Dale and Sandy (Ed) Jones of Des Moines, Ia. Sons Robert A (Angie), Kevin (Diana) of Des Moines, Ia. and Glen of Clearfield, Ia. Daughter Rhonda Rae of Arkansas. Stepson Melvin (Robin) Winebrenner of Altoona, Ia., Step daughters Debbie (Jim) Haines of Weed, Ca., Susan Perrault of Tahuya, Wa., and Jill (Charlie) Davis of Anna, Tx. 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, many other family members including nieces and nephews and his special loves Miss Ellie and Pepper at home and Pumpkin who resides at Fountains West care.

Robert was a Korean War Veteran and a life member of the 2ID Korean War Veterans Association, also a life member of the American Legion Post #682 of Altoona, Ia. Robert was a Truck Driver for most of his working life, but was also an amazing auto mechanic.

Per Robert's wishes his remains were cremated and no services are planned at this time, however donations in his name should be directed to the ARL.
