Timothy "Tim" K. Edwards passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley, MN. The son of Sue (Kruidenier) and Dr. Charles Edwards, Tim was born November 17, 1943. He attended Shattuck Military High School in Faribault, MN, the University of Iowa and graduated from Simpson College. Tim proudly served his country in the US Army.
Tim worked as an internal bank auditor eventually following his passion in the car business. He was the former owner of Victor's Sports Club, and especially loved his employees and patrons.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, who remember him as loving, caring, honest and loyal, with a remarkable sense of humor. He was an avid sports fan always rooting for his favorite teams, the Hawkeyes, Cyclones, Bulldogs, Cubs, I-Cubs, Royals, Twins and, of course, the Yankees! Tim also loved playing and watching golf. He loved to read, especially newspapers, keeping up on current events and politics.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Sue K. Edwards of LaJolla, CA; wife, Pat (Robins) Edwards of Urbandale; son, Scott Edwards of Urbandale; daughter-in-law, Tricia Edwards of Urbandale; sister, Nancy (Dr. Eric) Schned of Minneapolis, MN and brothers, Charles (Karin) Edwards of Des Moines and David (Marketa) Edwards of Bennington, VT; mother-in-law, Vera Robins of Des Moines. Nieces and nephews are Emily (Don) Ingham and their children, Andrew and Caroline, Hayley (Mark) Burner and their daughter, Colette, Molly Schned, Dan Schned and Alex Schned, Nick Edwards, Melody Edwards and Vilem Edwards and a host of many close friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles C. Edwards and father-in-law, Leland Robins.
A short graveside service will be presented by Tim's family on Saturday, May 10th at Noon at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Merle Hay Rd. All are invited to attend this and a following celebration of Tim's life at the Cub Club at Principal Park, One Line Drive, in Des Moines.
