Treka Doris Johnson Jamison Oakley

Doris, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. She was born October 10, 1927, one of seven children born to Joe and Minnie Johnson of Osceola, IA.

Following graduation from Osceola High School, she enrolled in the Cadet Nurse Program and received her R.N. in 1948. Later, she attended the University of Michigan and received her B.S.P.H.N. in 1963. She preferred working in long term care and especially caring for the elderly. She married Robert Oakley on July 2, 1965. After retirement, she was a volunteer for hospice in NC, FL, and MI.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Jamison and Robert Oakley, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Doris is survived by her sister, Norma Warner; four sister-in-laws; four step-children; and many nieces and nephews.

At her request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choosing.
