Victor R. "Bob" Dow, Jr.
Victor R. "Bob" Dow, Jr. of Des Moines, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital. Bob was born on June 4, 1947 in Des Moines to Arlene and Victor Dow, Sr.
Bob was a graduate of Lincoln High School, University of Iowa and Drake University. He was a man who wore many hats, holding several positions in the Des Moines area, including; a basketball coach, Polk County Conservation, a teacher for Callahan Middle School, Perfection Form Co., delivery driver and owner/operator of Db Productions for twenty years. His most recent accomplishment was becoming a published author of Animal Campaign "How We Beat The Beltway".
Those left behind to celebrate Bob's life are the mother of his children, Carmen Dow; siblings, Tim (Penny), Nancie (Tom); children; Chris and Brian Dow; grandson, Alex.
Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 12 noon.
In honor of Bob the family requests you come dressed in Cubs, Hawks, Bears or Lincoln High School attire and prepared to share a famous "Bob story". We will not be discussing Elvis, the Tea Party or the Yankees the day of his service.
