Wayne H. Fiscel
Wayne Harold Fiscel, 90, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at Luther Park's Trinity Center. He was born in Yale, Iowa, on April 4, 1923, and lived most of his life in the Des Moines area.
Wayne graduated from North High School in 1941 and served as a U.S. Navy pilot in WWII. He built homes on the east side of Des Moines before becoming a real estate broker. He worked for Iowa Realty for almost 30 years before retiring in 1997. He enjoyed woodworking and sports, and was involved in many civic and church activities. Wayne was a loyal east side supporter.
Wayne is survived by a sister, Beverly Easter of Grand Rapids, MI; two children, Kathy Murillo (Jess) of Clive, IA and Konnie Anderson (David) of Powell, TN; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helyne; and daughter, Kelley Turner.
Wayne was dearly loved and respected by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 8 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service which will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 9 at Grandview Park Chapel. Private burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
