Loving and loved Ashton Monroe Adams, 92, left this life to join his sweetheart on July 28, 2014. His heart's desire of being in his home surround by loved ones was fulfilled.
Monroe was born June 3, 1922 in Oakley, Idaho to John Frederick Adams and Augusta Geneva Elison. When he was eight his family moved to Burley, ID where he lived for seventy-eight glorious years. Monroe met Jeanne Marie Ratelle in Long Beach, CA in March 1942 and on December 31, 1942 they were married in Burley, ID at his parents' home and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 6, 1952. Monroe served in WWII as part of the 723rd Railway Operating Battalion in France when he was 20 years old. Monroe will be remembered by all as enjoying a good joke, playing games, entertaining, and sharing his and others' talents. He was loving, giving and committed to making life better for others through his hard work, kind words and relevant advice. Jeanne was always by his side supporting and participating in their life together. They created great memories on the farm for grandchildren, nieces and nephews by riding horses and tractors and learning to work.
