Sandy, UT-Boyd Clyde Davis passed away surrounded by close family on July 22, 2014 at the age of 92. Boyd was born April 11th, 1922 in Tabiona, Utah to Clyde and Thelma Davis. He married his high school sweetheart, Afton Morris, on September 28, 1940. Their life together (73 years) was only interrupted by WW II when Boyd left to serve in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy. Boyd returned safely from the war and worked in his car repair business and for the city repairing their fleet vehicles until he retired. Boyd loved to spend time with family and friends, and favorite pass-times included boating (water skiing) camping, fishing and he took his boat on the Friendship Cruise many times. Boyd had many memories about the adventures they had driving to Alaska in his motor home. Boyd is survived by children Dianna (Steven Day), Wayne (Becky) and Jimmy (Jasmin), daughter-in-law Karen Davis, sister Ranee Henderson as well as 47 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Boyd is preceded in death by his wife Afton, his son Larry, his grandson Jeff Davis. A short viewing will be held from 10-10:30 am on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, UT. This will be followed by graveside services with military honors, 11:00 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT.
