Charles Lauritzen Obituary
1920 - 2013
Charles Franklin Lauritzen passed away June 23, 2013. Born July 20, 1920 in Brigham City, Utah to Hyrum Charles Lauritzen and Henny Anna Madsen. Married Elaine Mackintosh November 11, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. Served in Army Air Corps during WWII. Employed by Dinwoodey Furniture Company for over 40 years as salesman and manager. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with service including bishop, high counselor, executive secretary, patriarch and 39 years in the Salt Lake Temple, with 6 years in the temple presidency.
Survived by his wife of 71 years, children Charlaine (Doug) Atwood, Terry (Kathleen) Lauritzen, Christine (Kent) Linton, Shelly (John) Barclay, 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, and sisters Vivian (infant) and Lillian (Stan) Godwin.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East So. Temple, SLC, Ut. Funeral Services will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at So. Cottonwood LDS chapel 5605 So. Vine Street Murray, Ut. with a viewing prior to funeral services from 10:00AM to 10:45AM. Interment at Brigham City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Institute is recommended.
