Chester A. Belnap Obituary

Chester Austin Belnap passed away at his long-time residence in Murray, Utah. "Chet" was the 8th of 9 children born to James G. Belnap and Chloe May Beus, and is the last surviving member of his family. Chet married Lucille Knapp, May 26, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was an independent plumbing contractor and had been retired for some years.
Chet was a WWII Veteran, having served in the 5307th Composite Unit as a member of Merrill's Marauders'. He was a dedicated official of Murray Little League Baseball, where he worked with 100's of Murray's youth.
He is survived by his children, James G. (Marsha), Barbara Olschesky, David C. (Vicki), and Jeffrey D. He had 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; and 2 grandchildren.
A viewing will be Thursday, October 24th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, from 6-8 p.m. Interment and a Graveside Service will be held at the Hooper City Cemetery, 5340 South 6300 West, Hooper, Utah, on Friday, October 25th at 1:00 p.m.
The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Robbie Bahr, and also Rita and Maurice of Good Sheppard Hospice.
