South Jordan, Utah-Donald Burvidge Bennion passed away on June 11, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born in Salt Lake City to Mabel Montgomery Ireland and Burvidge Donald Bennion. He attended East High School, then the University of Utah, graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He served an LDS mission in the Central States mission. Don served in the USMC during the Korean War. Upon his return, he met the love of his life, Karla Mae Pack and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 12, 1956. Don loved the outdoors, he loved hiking, gardening, bird watching and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He served in many LDS church callings. His favorite was serving with his wife in the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples.
Survived by his sister, Patricia Bennion Stevenson (Gerald), 4 children; Rosanne McCall (Dale), Karl Bennion (Vicki), Kari Staheli (Kory), Brent Bennion (Heather), 21 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Margory Bennion West and his beautiful wife Karla.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m at the South Cottonwood 16th Ward, 6350 S. Rodeo Ln. with a viewing from 11:30 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Centerville City Cemetery. Online Condolences may be shared at www.jenkins-soffe.com
