1931 - 2013
Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, Eldon Preece Hendricks, just two days shy of his 82nd birthday, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2013. Born February 1, 1931 in Cove, Utah to Zeno Hadley Hendricks and Esty Geneva Preece. Married Christine Polychronis April 29, 1952 in SLC Utah. They had 4 beautiful daughters, Debra, Pamela, Cynthia, & Virginia. Later divorced. Married Lenore Mitchell May 11th, 1962 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple February 18th, 1966. They had 1 son, Shem. Later divorced. Eldon served in the Navy as an SK3, Petty Officer 3rd Class from 5-16-1948 to 1-12-1952 during the Korean War. He also did what he called the World Cruise aboard the USS Tarawa CV40 - where he, in fact, did see the world. He loved his Navy days and would talk of them often. He was an active member of the LDS Church in which he held many positions. He loved dancing, camping, music and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and practical jokes.
Survived by his brother, Leon (Eydie) Preece Ramshaw. Preceeded in death by his parents; brother, Von Preece Hendricks; sister, Gloria Hendricks Orullian.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all those in the VA Hospital, those at Fairview Care Center, Hospice, family and friends.
A family graveside service will be held February 4, 2013, at Utah Veterans Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
