George William Robinson Obituary
George William
"Together Again"
George William Robinson, born December 12, 1930, in Burley, Idaho to Joseph William Robinson and Ella Marie Silcocks Robinson, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013.
He had a life filled with love and service. George grew up as a farm boy in the Jerome, Idaho area as a hardworking man. He was a man who loved life, his LDS faith, his family, and most of all, his bride Leola. George served his country honorably during the Korean War, where he was influenced by his Sargent to serve a LDS mission to which he did upon his honorable discharge. This decision ultimately began our family. He met Leola as they both served in the Central States Mission, each catching the others eye but unknown to the other. After returning home they sought each other out and were married in the Salt Lake City Temple for eternity on August 22, 1955. They started their life together in a small Ogden apartment converted from a garage as George worked at a local saw mill. Eventually moving to Salt Lake City to work for Garrett Freight lines and buying the home where they raised their family. Dedicated to his Heavenly Father and his LDS faith he loved serving as a seventy for his ward and stake, ward clerk, in the young men presidency, as Bishop of the Cannon 6th ward, in the stake High Counsel and many other callings. He was inspirational to many. He will always be remembered for his hugs to those he served. George cherished the time spent camping and travelling with his family, especially boating, waterskiing and ATV trips. We love you, Dad. May the joyous reunion in Heaven begin.
Preceded in death by his wife Leola June Lambert Robinson, granddaughter Breanne April Robinson, mother Ella, father Joseph, brothers Joe and Afton and sisters Naoma and Bertha.
Survived by son James, daughter Sheri (Gus), son Brent (Karen), daughter Debbie (Robert), son David (Tammara), brothers Junior and Darrell, sisters Nina, Bernice and Valnetta and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
