"Jerry"
Jerry Bassett, Jr. returned to his Heavenly Father October 28, 2013 of causes incidental to age.
He was born August 12, 1929, in Eureka, UT, to Rhea Daniels and Gerald Goodwin Bassett. Graduate of Payson HS, attended BYU and LDS Business College. Jerry served in the USMC during the Korean Conflict, then worked 33 years for the Dept. of the Army. He retired in 1986 and despised olive drab the rest of his life. On February 17, 1961, Jerry married Leah Farnsworth in the Salt Lake Temple. They settled in Murray, UT and raised three children together. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in multiple callings throughout his life.
Survived by his wife, Leah, of 53 years; children: Craig (Jennavee) Bassett, Traci (Scot) Tolman, Dallin (Ryann) Bassett; 3 grandchildren: Doug and Amy Tolman, Beau Bassett; brother, Ralph (Eva) Bassett. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at the Murray 22nd Ward, 619 West 5750 South where a viewing will be held Thursday, from 6-8 pm the evening prior and Friday, 9-10 am. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 2, 2013, 12:00 noon at the Mountain Home/Boneta Cemetery, Mountain Home, UT. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home, 801-968-3800.
