H. John Ploeger, age 84, passed away May 25, 2013 in St. George, Utah.
He was born June 12, 1928 to John and Gepke Leeuwerke Ploeger, served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, and served an LDS mission to the Netherlands. On February 25, 1952 he married Annarae Sperry in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active and faithful member of the LDS Church all of his life with Christ as his Examplar. He attended to family, church, and professional responsibilities. He was proud of his family and will be greatly missed. He served as a temple worker for 19 years. Together, John and Annarae served as missionaries in the Manila, Philippines Temple and in the St. George Visitors Center.
He is survived by his wife, Annarae, children Randall T. (Diana) Ploeger, Brad J. (Carol) Ploeger, Steven J. (Barbara) Ploeger, James B. (Teena) Ploeger, Paul S. Ploeger, Brian A. (Sue-Ellen) Ploeger, JoAnne (Jeff) Gurr, Jennifer (Matt) Ploeger-Gray, 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, brother Henry (Janet) Ploeger, and sister Rena Wing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday May 29, 2013, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LDS Church Temple Fund.
